STORE SALE RESULTS

ANZ Special Store Sale results.

A precursor to this week's Central Reds Droughtmaster Bull Sale held at the Emerald Saleyards was the ANZ Special Store Sale. In its second year the event was organised by vendors of the Bull sale as a way to exhibit Central Queensland Droughtmaster cattle and for the vendors to showcase the commercial side of their operations.

This year saw over 300 head presented with the cattle vying for prizes under Judge Dean Armstrong, Comet Downs, Comet.
Champion Pen of Steers was awarded to Kevin & Leesa Woolcock, Mostyndale Droughtmasters, Springsure. The pen of 11 milk tooth 496kg PCAS accredited steers went on to top the feeder market selling for $1595/hd.

Champion Pen of Heifers was awarded to Matt & Teleatha Werner, Coobyanga Pastoral, Borilla Park, Clermont. The EU accredited heifers sold for 340c/kg (261kg) to return $890.

The yarding sold to a strong market with weaner steers hitting 361.2/kg, feeder heifers selling to 341.2c/kg, weaner heifers topping at 340c/kg and feeder steers over 400kg making 321.2c/kg.
