Was established in 1980 by George and Lorraine Bartolo, and was registered with the ABBA as member 1528. The stud became predominately based on the renowned Cherokee and Wairuna bloodlines, as well as a moderately sized Full Blood Indu herd. Since then the herd has been modernized and improved continuously by extensive AI and Embryo Transfer, with the use of a vast range of genetics.
New bloodlines were acquired through imported American sires (JDH Drake Manso 59/9 and V8 636/3). Further advancements have been made in semen purchases from the US, Sires represented are:-
Also purchasing exceptional sires through Australian sale rings. The Bartolo family have been using AI since 1982 and were among the first to attempt and use ET in Qld.
Brought up with Brahmans, George continued to develop the breed for their adaptability and suitability for Australia's environment. When selecting and purchasing sires, bulls are chosen with quality and type in mind, not brand. And scant reason is needed as an excuse to cull cows - type and conformation are first on the list, and most definitely temperament.
A small full blood Indu herd has been retained after concentrated culling for unpopular traits and an attractive group have emerged from this.
Approximately 350 Herd Bulls are for sale from the paddock each year and currently 6 public auctions are supported with 120 stud and commercial bulls and 50 heifers each year.
Situated north of Nebo "Carrinyah" is approx. 20,600 acres, running 2000 stud breeders and a 500 head commercial operation.
The Carrinyah Park gate is always open for visitors.
