A Passion Led To Success

Jamie Leigh McCartney Bucca Station had all her dreams come true at the Steer and Carcass competition at the 18th World Brahman Congress.

You see Jamie Leigh has just married into a well-known grazing family not so long ago and instantly fell in love with cattle.

Jamie Leigh met Sandy McCartney three years ago and had no cattle knowledge what so ever, she was a makeup artist, working for Napoleon Perdis.

Jamie Leigh now has a strong passion for cattle and cannot imagine doing anything else,

Jamie Leigh said “Working with her steers has taught me so much about cattle and that I am very grateful for the experience. We started this process with 30 steers in the yards and with the help of family and friends we narrowed it down to 5 steers to enter the World Brahman Congress Hoof and Hook competition.

We currently run approximately 3500 head of Brahman Cattle which are bred and fattened off the coast that are EU and MSA accredited, and use Solo Brahman Bulls from Matthew and Fiona Noakes.

We weaned and tailed our steers with horses, they are loved like children and very spoilt, from weaning our steers they were feed on Blue Ribbon Stock Feeds.”

A great result from Bucca Station
Hoof - Under 540kg 3rd, 4th Over 540kg 2nd place Hook – Under 540kg 1st and 3rd places
And also won the Champion led steer carcass.
