Buyers are demanding very high grade quality Brahmans for Live Export
Brahmans in strong Demand
I called into Charters Towers Saleyards on Wednesday on the way to Emerald Field days.
In the export yards 9,000 feeder cattle were yarded bound for Indonesia it is very interesting to note that the buyers are demanding very high grade quality Brahmans which was very noticeable in the yarding.
Talking to Leanne Phillipson who also said the buyers are flying into Townsville and going out the yards to make sure the quality is meet to the strict standards they require for the cattle bound for Indonesia.
Of the 2 export companies which assembled these yardings this week, one was sourcing for two separate Indonesian clients and the other for three (so total of five established clients will receive this 9000 head in Indonesia).
As I said, it is a normal occurrence for “selector” representatives to visit Australian live export depots to approve the stock prior to shipping.
From our perspective, many seem to favour the brahman breed for their ability to adapt to Indonesian conditions and value add potential.
Buyer representatives from the companies which use the Charters Towers Saleyard facility continually comment to Ron and our staff that the Queensland brahman product is superior and their clients also recognize the quality in our area.
The evolvement of the Australian Brahman Breed has today influence with stud and commercial live cattle exports to many overseas countries a clear indication of the breed’s adaptation to the north.
