The grand champion Steer at the EKKA (Limousin Angus cross)
The grand champion Steer at the EKKA went to a Limousin Angus cross, of Shaun Daley and Julia Simmons, judges had the hard task of calling the winner at this year’s event with the quality on display.
At 538 kg the Champion Steer was bought for $52 dress weight and was purchased by Breakfast Creek Hotel.
Over 330 led steer and heifer entries were judged by Berry Reynolds, Toowoomba, Alastair Rayner, Tamworth, and Michael Millner, Blayney over the two days of competition.
A well know Doctor Sean Rothwell Director Emergency and Trauma Centre at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital has been attending the Steer Sale for a number of years and purchasing quality steers and sends them off to Nolan’s Meats in Gympie for processing. (see video)
