Paris Burns fond memories of the Notre Dame
I have some very fond memories of Paris and specially the Notre Dame I’ve been to Paris on a few occasions and remember very well going into the Notre Dame and seeing all the signs no cameras, no photos, I’m really glad that I did take photos as I now have a lot of memories of inside the fantastic Cathedral.
I remember the big queues, you had to line-up to get in I was very lucky one day and walked straight in after a bit of my chit chat to the security guard.
Loaded with iPhone in hand and a very similar situation like the day at royal Ascot with Her Majesty the Queen.
As Janelle and I wandered inside the Notre Dame Cathedral capturing the photos that are now memories, one cannot believe it’s been standing for 800 years survived two world wars and bombings and took 100 years to build.
And only took four hours to burn down.
Headlines in Paris now read
Paris fire chief Jean-Claude Gallet told reporters Monday evening he believed firefighters had managed to save the cathedral's landmark rectangular towers from the blaze, Reuters said. There was still a risk that some of the interior structures could collapse, he said.
A Paris deputy mayor, Emmanuel Gregoire, said the cathedral had suffered "colossal damages."
France's president vowed to rebuild the landmark.
