OUTBACK BARBIE

$1M RACING QUEENSLAND MAGIC MILLIONS QTIS OPEN 1300M

Outback Barbie, that loveable Queensland mare, brought the curtain down on an amazing 2020 .

The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions Raceday with her win in the $1 million Racing Queensland Magic Millions QTIS Quality (1300m).

It was a back-to-back double for Gollan Racing, who had won the previous race with Vega One, and also a double for James McDonald, who had ridden Madam Rouge to victory earlier in the day.

Outback Barbie is owned by Jennifer and Alan Acton, who carried their winner's trophy to the night session of the 2020 Gold Coast Yearling Sale after the races (complete with a pair of Barbies along for the ride)!

The Actons paid $210,000 for Outback Barbie at the 2017 Gold Coast Yearling Sale, and she has since returned almost $1.4 million in prize money.

She was sold by Eureka Stud that year, being by Spirit of BOOM from Pure Purrfection.

Today's result, a thriller, was also fitting given that Racing Queensland sponsored the race and the winner had landed the QTISx bonus last November in the listed Keith Noud Quality at Doomben Racecourse.

Best wishes to Jennifer and Alan on a rousing result for Queensland racing!
