Gibbo to all in the North Queensland
Experienced Territory Manager for Boehringer Ingelheim Wayne Gibson (Gibbo) is well known to the livestock industry in North Queensland he is currently down at Tumut with Qld Rural Fire Service on deployment.
He sent M.D.M. photos of the fires around Batlow and Tumbarumba. Apple orchids and timber industry (pine) just wiped out. In the last couple of days, they have had storms with good rain to help ease the situation.
Fire is burning in the Snowy Mountains area, north of the Victorian border and in an area between Adaminaby and Woomargama. The fire is more than 332,100 hectares in size and is being controlled.
The fire is burning south of the Hume Highway in areas around Ellerslie, south of Tumbarumba and south of Goobarragandra.
Fire activity has eased across the fireground.
Rain is forecast for the fireground today. This will further reduce fire activity however lightning is expected with storms.
