The unsealed road to Richmond divides the Wongan and Wybenia blocks giving good access to cattle markets and supply line to the north.

Winton offers primary and secondary schooling to grade 12, hospital and medical facilities, rural businesses, government agent and personal shopping. There are the cattle saleyards and rail trucking facilities located in Winton. Twice weekly air services to and from Townsville and Brisbane as well as a daily bus service to and from Brisbane.
